Upcoming Family Friendly Events
The lakeshore communities of West Michigan do a fantastic job of hosting events and activities that include the whole family. There's so much happening that is geared specifically toward kids and families as a whole, and that's part of what makes being here so amazing!
Every season in West Michigan has it's unique, fun things to do for kids of all ages- from babies up to the "young at heart". Indoors or outdoors, no matter the time of year, there's always something great going on along the lakeshore for families to experience together!

Now through January 8th“I Have A Dream,” Essay Project on Martin Luther King, Jr.- hosted by the Mason County District Libraries in collaboration with Engaging for Equity, a collaborative of the Manistee Area Racial Justice and Diversity Initiative, and West Shore Community College. Writers are encouraged to consider how they might continue the work of Dr. King by making the world a better place. Students in grades 3-6, approximately 50 words; grades 7-9, about 100 words; and students in grades 10-12, 200 words. Submit your entries to email@example.com by 8am on Friday, January 8th, 2021. Suitable entries will be published in the Ludington Daily News.
Saturdays from January 9th-February 13th, 2pm AND 6pmGuided snowshoe walks at Ludington State Park- 8800 M-116, Ludington. PRE-REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED BY VISITING signupgenius.com. The walks will be limited to 25 people and no registratins will be accepted by phone or walk-up. Face masks are required and the walks will last an hour and a half each. Meet at the warming shelter next to the parking lot. A State of Michigan Recreation Passport is required to enter the park. For more information, call (231) 843-9261.
Now through March 2, 2021Applications being accepted for Agriculture Scholarships sponsored by Smith & Eddy Insurance and Fremont Insurance. Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who intend to pursue a degree in agriculture. Eligible students must have maintained a grade point average of 3.5 or higher. Students must submit the application, transcript, and an essay of no more than 1,000 words describing why they are pursuing a career in agriculture by March 2, 2021.

Lots of Activities in Scottville, Michigan -- Explore the Riverside Park along the National Scenic Pere Marquette River.
Canoeing or Fishing on the Pere Marquette River -- Many boat liveries offer canoe rentals.
